Full sized polar bear spotted on the tube

You’re sitting on the tube, studiously minding your own business, ensuring you make zero eye contact with anyone. The train stops, the doors open and… a life-sized polar bear gets on.

This rather terrifying eight foot animatronic creature was out and about, mingling with commuters this morning at Charing Cross and the South Bank to promote new Sky Atlantic show Fortitude. The synopsis of the 11 part series suggests it has very little to do with polar bears aside from being set somewhere cold but who cares – a huge animated polar bear, controlled by a pair of puppet masters is wondering around London!! As well as wondering about the tubes, Poley (I made that name up – in no way is that official) was spotted by stunned joggers on Hampstead Heath.
A picture speaks a thousand words (or so they say) and a great shot can be worth its weight in gold in PR-terms. This certainly has the potential to get social media going – its tweetable, facebookable and instagramable; the holy triumvirate.
Everyone loves a good touch and feel experience – experiential is all clients can talk about these days. This offers that in abundance, though the pictures suggest only children are taking advantage of it!! A great stunt, by London-based agency Taylor Herring – good job guys!!
