NHS ask donors to come forward through bloody stunt

According to the NHS, Britain’s blood stocks need to rise 30 per cent above normal levels in time for the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics.

The reason for the drive is to cope with an expected increase in missed appointments – apparently, regular donors tend to miss appointments when public events take place because of they are out of their normal routine or away. The NHS also believes the increase in international visitors will place additional pressure on blood banks, and is asking first time donors to step forward.

To highlight this need in a visual way, eight campaigners took to London’s St Pancras and nearby streets wearing only skin-coloured underwear, sandals and body art designed to look like the circulatory system.
