Beach Volleyball team ‘stop traffic’ to remind commuters to avoid busy roads during the Olympics

Team GB’s Beach Volleyball girls literally stopped traffic this morning to launch TfL’s ‘Temporary Road Changes’ planning tool as part of its Get Ahead of the Games campaign, encouraging commuters to avoid busy roads during the London 2012 Olympic Games this summer.
The ‘Temporary Road Changes’ tool can be found on www.getaheadofthegames.com, which hosts information about how to get around more easily during the Games, in London and around other UK venues.
Garrett Emmerson, TfL’s surface transport chief operating officer, said: “Our advice is to avoid driving in central London and around the Olympic Route Network (ORN) and venues or, if journeys are absolutely essential, to plan ahead and allow extra time.”
The planning tool enables London’s road users to see how the areas where they live, work and visit will be affected. Road users can make plans by visiting www.getaheadofthegames.com and for further information follow @GAOTG for regular updates.
