In a bid to help tourism operators and fire-affected communities recover from the ongoing devastation of the bushfires, Tourism Australia has launched a new multi-million dollar ad campaign encouraging Aussies to stay closer to home on their next holiday.
Aiming to help and refill tourism operators including hotels, restaurants, caravan parks and beaches – the new campaign is part of a tourism recovery package announced by the Australian government on Sunday.
Federal Trade, Tourism and Investment Minister Simon Birmingham said industry operators and tourist towns “desperately” needed help to protect jobs.
“We want Australians to pitch in to save the towns, jobs and small businesses around our country who rely on tourism,” he said.
