CALM team with Fran Kirby to make sure no signal for help goes unheard

CALM (the Campaign Against Living Miserably) has joined forces with Fran Kirby, England squad midfielder, in a plea to make sure no woman’s signal for help goes unheard – whether it’s on or off the pitch.
Hope & Glory’s newest campaign with CALM, aims to give people the tools and knowledge around women’s suicide and mental health to help people take action and hopefully save a life.
The premise of the campaign, in collaboration with Chelsea’s Fran Kirby, is simple. When a player is injured on the pitch the help is immediate. Off the pitch it’s another story.
Research done by CALM shows that whilst suicides amongst 45 to 49 year olds are the highest of all age groups, under 24’s have had the biggest spike since records began in 1981. Results also showed that a fifth of women who reported feeling suicidal and reached out for help have felt ‘dismissed or invisible’ and their signal has gone unseen – frequently being told their feelings are down to hormones or that they are being dramatic and over thinking things.
Will you play your part to challenge this deadly stigma?
