Specsavers troll tourists at Sydney Airport with a welcome to Melbourne

Specsavers are trolling tourists arriving at Sydney Airport with a “Welcome To Melbourne’ message – triggering some serious double takes in the arrivals hall.
Meanwhile drivers leaving Melbourne Airport are being greeted with a ‘Welcome to Sydney’ billboard – the campaign is also live in other airports across the country.
The slogan “should’ve gone to Specsavers” appears in a smaller font.
The borderline evil OOH prank is part of the retailer’s latest ‘Should’ve’ TV campaign which centres around tense and amusing airport blunders triggered by poor eyesight.
Says Shaun Briggs, director of marketing planning at Specsavers: “As with all ‘Should’ve’ campaigns it’s relatable and has that core serious message at the heart of it: that mistakes are easily made if your eyesight is failing, which is a good reminder to Australians of all ages to look after their eye health as we head into the busy school and summer holiday travel periods.”
