Aldi rescues snowed-in guests at Britain’s highest pub

Guests stranded at the Tan Hill Inn in the Yorkshire Dales since Saturday received a lifeline from Aldi, which delivered essentials via snow plough.
Four guests and six staff remained trapped at the 1,732-foot-high pub after snow drifts cut off access.
Supplies of sausages and Malbec wine had run out, prompting Aldi to step in with a care package that also included de-icer, loo roll, board games, and dog treats.
“We were absolutely chuffed when Aldi came to the rescue,” said pub manager Nicole Hayes. Stranded guest Angus Leslie added, “Thanks to Aldi, we can now stay for longer. Bring on the snow!”
The group, now describing themselves as “friends for life,” kept entertained with snowball fights, disco nights, and games.
For those trapped, a good sausage and wine truly saved the day.
