The ‘ultimate Mother’s Day treat’ – £700 edible designer shoes made of chocolate

I haven’t seen many Mother’s Day PR campaigns, but one Norfolk-based chocolate company has created something the Mail Online has called ‘the ultimate Mother’s Day treat’.

Saffire Handmade Chocolates has created a range of ‘Saffire Slipper’ handcrafted chocolate shoes, each modelled on designer shoes such as Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin.

Only 50 of the edible £700 shoes are being made and Saffire say they could last up to 10 years. Each of the lifesize shoes – equivalent to a ladies’ size 3 – takes a week to produce and is coated with a layer of cocoa butter before receiving several coats of red, blue, purple or black food glitter.
